Support Terry Fox Run KL - 4th Nov 2007

This is the charity run/walk event to continue terry fox's spirit and raising fund worldwide for cancer research, at least Cheong Tatt and I will bring our kids to enjoy this meaningful Sunday morning walk at Lake Garden on 4th Nov. When was the last time you visited this beautiful Lake Garden?

Check this link for more details. What you need to do is buy the t shirt at RM25 at Kianti restaurant (next to Kelana Seafood) and turn up at Lake Garden before 9am on 4th Nov!

The story behind - Terry was only 18 years old when he was diagnosed with bone cancer and forced to have part of his his right leg amputated in 1977. Terry started his run in St. John’s, Newfoundland on April 12, 1980 and he ran 42 kilometres (26 miles) a day through Canada's Atlantic provinces, Quebec and Ontario.

Terry passed away on June 28, 1981 at age 22 after 143 days and 5,373 kilometres (3,339 miles).

The heroic Canadian was gone, but his legacy was just beginning.

To date, more than $400 million has been raised worldwide for cancer research in Terry's name through the annual Terry Fox Run, held across Canada and around the world.

Best Rendang and Lemang in town

Thanks to Karim. Mohana and I get to eat the best Rendang and Lemang in town again. We attended Karim's open house at Bandar Kinrara. As usual, it is packed with the people mainly from the Telco industry. Ha ha.
Some of us started to attend Karim's Open House in 1993 when he still stayed in Kampung Harun. I really enjoy the food, the chat and the hospitality of Karim and his family. It could have been more fun if we can have the lady co-host with Karim.
Selamat Hari Raya to Karim and all our Muslim coursemates!
Now, when is our UM-EE94 gathering?

ML Sim: my trip to USA, Oct 07

I just came back from a conference trip to Baltimore, USA.

The only thing I enjoy much staying in university is the opportunities to travel around. So far, I have been to USA (2x), Japan, UK (3x), Netherlands, Belgium, Ghana, S. Korea, Vietnam (2x), Thailand (5x), and Singapore (2x).

However,
my experience to US this time was not very good. Upon arriving at the 1st airport in USA (Detroit), I was invited to a room to fill in a questionnaire and being interviewed for almost 30 mins. I think only people from selected countries need to be there for interview. I feel like being discriminated. Also, I was asked when I would return and told to come to Detroit custom office to get my passport stamped before leaving. This was quite an insult (as if I might over stay there).

Baltimore is famous with its seafood. Their special delicacy is the crab cake as shown.
